What is Pelvic Ultrasound Imaging?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ultrasound is safe and painless, and it uses sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. Ultrasound imaging, also known as an ultrasound scan or sonography, is performed using a small transducer (probe) placed directly on the skin and ultrasound gel. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the probe through the gel into the body. The transducer collects the returning sounds, and a computer uses those sound waves to create an image. Ultrasound exams do not use radiation, so the patient is not exposed to radiation. Since ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body’s internal organs, as well as blood flow through blood vessels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive medical test that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n
